Moody, Romantic Dana Point Wedding at Doheny State Beach

When you think of a beach wedding do you picture a bright day, filled with vivid colors, on soft sand? Well, think again! This stunning Dana Point wedding put a twist on a beach wedding! Dark colors and boho florals created the perfect moody, romantic celebration amongst the rocky shoreline at Doheny State Beach.

The couple opted for two looks throughout the day. Starting with a traditional style, with a white wedding dress and black suit. After that they embraced their dark side in a black wedding dress and veil, while the groom wore a stylish burnt orange suit with black shirt.

The florals absolutely stole the show! Gorgeous split arches framed the space where vows were exchanged. Pampas grass, dried palm leaves, and loose florals were the perfect boho backdrop. The bridal bouquet featured anemone, sweet pea, and pops of color from black anthurium and terracotta roses.

Pairing decorative driftwood pieces with black glassware and plates, and boho floral arrangements in black vases created the perfect moody tablescape. At each guest place setting, in lieu of a menu, was a thank you note from the couple. In addition to serving as a place card, the personalized thank you notes were a heartfelt touch. The couple was able to express their gratitude to their loved ones for sharing in their special day. 

After the ceremony and dinner, it was love at first bit when digging into the black marbled wedding cake! Their adorable pup was so excited to be part of the celebration, and so disappointed he couldn’t share the dessert.

The stationery suite for this moody beach wedding features a black wedding invitation with gold accents, a black envelope with liner, and gold vellum wrap. The gold vellum was also added to the guest tables, as a place card atop the personalized thank you note.
